KAIA Coronavirus Resources
Kansas-related resources and information to keep you up-to-date.
The Kansas Association of Insurance Agents (KAIA) has established this resource page to support insurance professionals to understand and manage the risks of the current outbreak of COVID-19, commonly known as Coronavirus.
While there is no prediction on how the current situation will unfold, we encourage you to review and share this information regularly. It is KAIA's hope that it will help members understand and reduce their current risks associated with the human and economic impacts of COVID-19.
KAIA is here to help you. Please reach out to us with any questions or needs as they arise:
Governor Kelly issued an Executive Order defining the essential functions that can remain operational during the periods of time when “stay at home” orders are in effect and overriding essential businesses listed in those individual county orders. Insurance services are listed under section KEFF 300 Manage.

Kansas Insurance Dept. & Licensing Updates
For those agents who's licenses will be up for renewal during the coming weeks, please understand the Kansas Insurance Department will not be issuing automatic suspension notices. However, licensing requirements are NOT suspended at this time.
The Department is committed to working with agents on licensing issues before the department and they encourage agents to use online resources accessed through their website insurance.kansas.gov or email questions to KID.Licensing@ks.gov.
Helping Protect Your Agency
The Coronavirus will create some discussion from customers about coverage provided within their insurance policy. It's always a good reminder to provide agency staff with E&O risk management tips for handling claims. Situations like this could have the opportunity to lead to potential E&O incidents for the agency. Take the opportunity to remind staff of what to do when faced with a potential E&O incident, such as an uncovered claim, by sharing the E&O wallet card with your staff.
Re-opening your agency
