Kansas Insurance Department Migrates Licensing
As part of SB 37, the producer licensing bill passed in 2021, the Kansas Insurance Department will be migrating its licensing information to NIPR (National Insurance Producer Registry) and SBS (State-Based Systems) soon. Due to this change, you will not be able to process any Kansas licensing transactions between Dec. 30, 2021 – Jan. 11, 2022.Â
For license renewals in December 2021, we encourage you to renew your license before Dec. 30. If you do not renew your license before Dec. 30, you will be unable to renew it until after Jan. 11, 2022. Failure to renew your license by the due date will result in the suspension of your license for up to 90 days, and it will result in a reinstatement fee of $100.Â
After Jan. 11, 2022, all licensing renewals will be done through NIPR’s system. Your CE records will be available through SBS and can be viewed using your NPN or name & social security number.Â
- You can access NIPR at www.nipr.com.
- You can access SBS by visiting https://www.statebasedsystems.com/solar/index.html.
- If you need immediate CE hours, we encourage you to visit KAIA’s online education platform (https://www.kaia.com/aben/). You can access hundreds of video-on-demand classes with no testing requirements that qualify for CE.
In addition, for high-quality in-person classes, be sure to register for KAIA’s Annual Convention in Wichita on January 24 – 26, 2022.
Should you have any questions, please reach out to beth@kaia.com or Monika Richmeier, Chief of Producer Licensing, with the Kansas Insurance Department.Â
