Licensing Challenges Today
Many members are experiencing challenges for getting new employees licensed. Testing facilities are closed and there are limited locations for fingerprinting. KAIA staff understands the challenges and continues to communicate with the Kansas Insurance Department (KID) to develop a solution, such as a temporary license.
The good news is that a potential licensing solution has been identified. KID has notified us that Pearson Vue contracted with Made-Men, in Kansas City, Kansas, who is currently giving insurance exams. To schedule an exam, please visit  http://home.pearsonvue.com  As of April 6, 2020, there were slightly more than 160 individuals who were waiting to take their insurance exams.
We’ve also been told that not all law enforcement agencies have stopped taking fingerprints. Please contact your local law enforcement agency to see if it would still process the fingerprint records needed for insurance licensing in Kansas. Additionally, there are some individuals and businesses that can do fingerprinting. As of right now, we are aware of these three:
- Julie’s Tax Service in Kansas City, Kansas. (juliestaxservice.com);
- MoKan Fingerprint also in Kansas City (mokanfingerprint.com);
- 47th Mail and Print through Fieldprint in Wichita (https://www.fieldprint.com/network-location-results-page/?address=Wichita%2C+KS).
We realize the options above are not convenient for many of our members, especially given the locations. Please reach out to us if you are having licensing issues. We also encourage you to contact KID to let it know of your issues as well. We will continue to work with them on a licensing solution as the pandemic unfolds.
