KAIA Successfully Advocating for You
Nearly a month into the 2020 Legislative Session, the KAIA Legislative Team and Government Affairs Committee have remained active - working closely with the Kansas Insurance Department (KID) team on their legislative agenda.
The committee met at KAIA's office, during the Rural and Small Agents' Conference, and have had several conference calls to review KID's agenda, among many items it includes:
- moving to a 24-hour CE requirement
- revised agent and agency renewal process (including fees)
and, revised carrier appointment process - At the committee's direction, KAIA staff negotiated with KID to help the department realize some efficiencies through the use of the NIPR platform while minimizing the financial burden on member agents.
Stay tuned to KAIA's legislative updates as this bill is introduced.
